| Can anyone tell me (where I can find) the method by which I can script (in dos) the stopping / restarting of a SQL instance that is part of a cluster?-------Moo. :) |

| You should not be stopping the clustered services using NET STOP or starting them using NET START. They should be done in the Cluster Administrator. If you don't want them to fail over to the other node, perform a Take Offline. I have not seen anything scripted from Cluster Administrator.Tara |

| I'm with Tara on this one. When working with clustered resources ALWAYS manipulate them through Cluster Administrator. Net Stop might work, but I bet that it fails over to the other node.Michael<Yoda>Use the Search page you must. Find the answer you will.</Yoda> |

| I use this command:cluster /CLUSTER:<CLS NAME> RES "<SERVICE NAME>" /OFFIn fact we use a full menu commands scriptthe cluster.exe is on your server machine and with /? you get all the help yo need.Regards.Gerardo G. |
