| I have 3 maintenance plans. The back up jobs ran fine for a few days but last night the first job scheduled to run completed but did not update in the job screen. That is it still shows executing and I dod not get the e-mail notification showing the job completed. The server log shows it completed but the job screen still shows executing. Since this is the case, it sounds like it is either a verification problem or a mail problem since I have verify backup on completion and e-mail when complete set up. Any suggestions??? |

| Enterprise ManagerRight click Maintenance Plans and choose HistoryIf loads and loads of entries change the Status dropdown to "Failed"Double click the failure ones and see if the error message mean anything usefulKristen |

| That is part of the problem. There is no error message. If I look in the log, it states that they backed up. If I look in the job history, it does not show the job went through, there is no entry that the job even ran on that date. I tried stopping the Agent and it worked one time but then it happened again. I wish I could give you more info. Really I do! Usually I can do a search from the error message and come up the a cuase but there isn't one. |

| Told you Kristen. :) The stupid maintenance plans are a piece of crap. Go into the jobs that the maintenance plans created and choose the option to have them output to a file. This will output the results of everything to a text file. See if that give you any more information when they fail. | Darn, you know more about the maintenance plans than I do - isn't the REPORTING stuff on by default? With a bit of luck iatola007 will have existing files to cut&paste from.Kristen |

| Thanks for the suggestions. I actually had a patch to install over the weekend and since the re-boot, everyhtin has been working okay. I am going to look into running the scripts rather than the maintanence plans. |
