Hi Nico,
I get the feeling that the OLAP community only makes up a very very small percentage of the SQL community.

OLAP skills are mainly only really used in Datawarehousing(I work in datawarehousing but I don't use olap much- or not at all)

Our datawarehouse team has 16 members of which only 3 use olap - our whole it department has about 150 sql programmers and only the same 3 people mentioned earlier use olap - I reckon that the reason for the poor response to Analysis Services posts is due to the lack of community members who have knowledge of the technology.

PS - Hope you Sail ... I mean drive home safely in CapeTown tonight.

Duane.

I don't know of a single person here who has enough experience with Analysis Services to provide help in this forum. Almost always the Analysis Services questions go unanswered.

I have some data warehousing experience, but I didn't use Analysis Services to do any of it.

I only use analysis service when I really need (until now, some of my problem still unsolved), the rest MDX Query already covered in my UI and DW builder program.

MSSABI as DW Builder and BI Portal XP as my front end. You can find it on Microsoft web site.

Yes, I faced the same problem. No reply for simple questions. May be there are too few people using the analysis services.
Anyway, anyone know other better place to share experience about the use of Analysis services?

For AS and OLAP I wouldn't doubt it. But not for all of the other aspects of SQL Server.

Besides that, we have the Yak Corral. How can you compete with that? :)
