Hi Guys,

I am currently using the Restore operation through Command

restore database DBName
From DISk='Filename' with
stats=10,
recovery,
unload,
replace,
restart

this works fine for Restoring operation from Backups On Hard Disks


What Changes i made into it the about Restore command to Restore Database with Backup On either Floppy Drive and CDROM Attached with computer while i don't know the exact drive letter for CDROM attached with computer or don't want to know the drive letter for CDROM attached with PC

Please Can You Help me

and also tell me the Change in backup command if i want take Backups on Floppy Drive, however my cuurent Backup Command is as follows:

Backup Database DatabaseName
To Disk='Filename'

You're going to need to know the location. It's the same syntax.

Again, the syntax is the same.

Backups on floppy! Why oh why oh why would you want to do this? Backups should always be sent to the local disk first. Then you can copy that file to wherever you want after the backup has completed successfully.

I about fell outta my chair when I read the subject of this topic.

I kept thinking, yeah let's outsource our database stuff. That's a GREAT idea!
