| John writes "I have Sql Server access with a hosting company. It is a shared environment where more than 400 databases exist on the hosting company's Sql Server box, only one of which is mine. I don't care at all about the other databases on the Sql Server box because they belong to other people, and I dont even have access to them anyway. When I try to display the database list in Sql Enterprise Manager, it takes 10 minutes to display the list, and often just locks up, even on a T1 connection. This makes database management using enterprise manager nearly impossible. My question is: How can I filter out the hundreds or other databases in enterprise manager that my sql login has no access to?Thanks." |

| Sorry, there's no option to do this. If you really can't take it, just use Query Analyzer. You have to learn admin commands like BACKUP, DBCC, and others, but once you pick them up, you'll never use EM to do those things again. (trust me, EM SUCKS for 99% of the stuff you need to do) |
