Marcelo Ballester writes "Hello,
I have a Windows 2003 Server with Microsoft SQL server 2000.
It was working good for a while until a few days ago.
I can access the SQL databases from the workstations without any problem.
The problem comes when I try to access the SQL server on the Enterprise Manager. It gives me an error "Connection failed, check SQL registration Properties. I've checked the registration properties and everything is perfect.
I have an older server on the same network with SQL, so I setup Enterprise Manager to manage my new server and works perfect. I can see all the data.
I'm kind of lost. I would appreciate if you have any ideas on how to solve this problem. Right now I can modify my tables and security using the old server, but soon we are going to shut it down.

Thank you for your help

Marcelo Ballester"

Could you post the full error? Does Query Analyzer work for these workstations?

Is an ALIAS set up [wrongly perhaps] in the SQL Client Network Utility on the machine that is running EM?

Can you PING the server by name from that machine?
