Number of inserted records is not enough information to help you out. We'd need to know how big the database is, how many concurrent users, etc...Tara

Tara,At this moment we have a small database on Window XP professional on a of the shelve pc. We are looking forward and then we would have 4000 inserts/day. There are +/- 10 users connected to it.Is it a good idea to change to a Raid5 ?

4000 inserts/day is a small number. But over the period data may grow (if you don't archive it..)raid5 is a big thing and quite expensive also. Try a normal server with proper backup stratergy.....10 users is not a big number. I will not suggest RAID at the moment...------------------------I think, therefore I am
