Hi

Is there anyway to import the table schema (Table names and columns at minimum) into a 3rd party package (possibly visio2000 or any other package) which will allow me to print the tables off.

Usually I have to resort to screen shots knitted together in Photoshop.

I am looking to use this for reference only and not going to be re-importing the diagram back into Enterprise manager.

I've looked at our Visio 2000 installation and see nothing that shows it can do this, help file doesnt say anything as well.

TIA
John

Think you may need the Enterprise Edition though am not sure (I have version (6.1.1023))

You want the reverse engineering wizard

FILE > NEW > DATABASE > Database Model Diagram
then
DATABASE > REVERSE ENGINEER

You may need an ODBC data source too

If you have the correct version of Visio 2000 (don't know what it's called) you can reverse engineer a database diagram. The option comes up if you make a "database model diagram". I think I have Visio Professional, and it shows up for me.

Would the Table Views in Enterprise Manager do (if you could screen shot them)?

We use a "screen grabber" tool to get screen shots for manuals; it can "scroll & knit" a screen window to get all of it into a single image. Its called Something Capture Pro - I can dig it out if its any help.

Have You tried, <Alt>+<Print Screen>.

There are a few free tools available, though I have'nt used them (we use ErWin & Visio) but you might have a look here:
