Amos writes "I have the following error message when trying to connect from an SQL 2000 client to an SQL 200 server:
Msg 11, Level 16, State 1 (General Network Error. Check your network documentation)
The connection was working fine until the server was moved behind a new firewall.
My client is using a NAT when connecting to the new firewall.
I can ping to the server, and I can telnet on port 1433.
Any suggestions?"

Check that the client is using TCP/IP and not named pipes by using the Client Network Utility. If neccessary you can create an alias for the server and specify it to use TCP/IP.
