If I check the "Reorganize Data and Index Pages" under Optimization tab in database maintenance plan, then would it re-index my database?

Yes. But you see what the problem with maintenance plans is though? You don't know exactly what it is doing, so don't use them. Write your own. For reindexing, you just need DBCC DBREINDEX. If you want to see some examples of stored procedures that do database maintenance, then look here:

Just to amplify on what Tara has told you. It may sound a bit unusual to say don't use the maintenance plans but there have been a lot of reported issues with them.

In addition to running DBCC DBREINDEX as described, you may want to run DBCC CHECKDB. See BOL for some details under the "DBCC CHECKDB Recommendations" heading.
