Hi,

Can someone briefly explain which this feature of Analysis services is and how canit be of use.

Also, besides BOL, I'll appreciate if someone can recommend a good reading on this.

Named sets are really useful if you cn create or reference them in the clent tool (some can't). Where they have proven to be off use for us is grouping a set of members from say the customer dimension and naming the set 'Steves_Customers'. This set can then be referenced in a report, so each time I want to analyse only my customers, i can do it easily, rather than having to see all customer, or filtering customers out every time. You could do the same with products etc.

Thanks steve. This provides a little bit of information but it appears that not many people are using this feature?? I am saying this becuase I havenot come across any post in any newsgroups regarding this feature...Is this a correct assumption.
