| Steve writes "Hi,I have a network of 14 workstations, and a server (windows NT). All users use a SQL based program for teh trade that we are in. Because of the people who support the network etc, I am unable to make radical changes, and as such, the system is not set up the way I would set it up myself, so I just try to fine tune it myself!I know very little about SQL though, and inparticular named open pipes.Over the past 2 weeks, a select few of the workstations have each been opening between 5 and 20 "named open pipes", and whether just co-incidence or not,the whole network has been slowing down. Is this just a cooincidence, and how can I restrict the number of pipes each work station is opening?!Thanks,Steve " |
