| Iris Anderson writes "We have an NT 4.0 box on which we have been attempting to install MS SQL Server 6.5 incl. SP 3. MS SQL Server installs OK and I can login as 'sa' via command line but try as we might we have been unable to get the MS Client software (i.e. Enterprise Mgr, etc.) to register the server. After substantial research we feel it is the problem of the change from version 6.0 to 6.5 wherein SERVER.BIN was replaced with server registry info supposedly located in the NT Registry. Client software simply cannot find the server to register it. I have a feeling this is a known problem but we have searched with diligence and having found the issue cannot locate the resolution.--Iris Anderson" |
