Author  Topic  gds Starting Member 29 Posts Posted - 2001-03-31 : 03:48:59 GOOD DAY TO ALL SQL-SERVER SYSADMIN. I tried to shrink my database using the Shrink Database Found in the SQL Enterprise. It works so far no problems are found. My question, Is it necessary to shrink the database? How often? Can it improves the database performance? What are the advantages and dis-advantages of shrinking a database. P.S. Sorry, to asked this questions if you find it very simple. I just want to know well the features of SQL Server. Thanks for the reply in advance. Just tell me if sometimes I don't make sense. I'm new in SQL Server. Always, gds that smiles.
