Hi all, I think some of you must have encountered this problem ... but I really dunno how to fix it. I installed my Analysis Services on SQL Server 2000 SP3a running on Windows XP. The problem is that when I opened Analysis Manager, sometimes I can connect to the Analysis servers, but sometimes it fails with an error like "unable to connect to analysis server. Check if your account is in the OLAP administrators group". Of course my account is in the OLAP admin group. The strange thing is that sometimes it connects and sometimes it fails, and then after several retries it connects again. For example, after I built a cube, I tried to re-connect but it fails. Your help and experience are much appreciated. Thanks, delpiero |

Dear all, I think I have solved the problem by applying service pack 3 FOR ANALYSIS SERVICES. In my last message I mentioned I have already applied SP3a but that was just for the Database components. Now I have aplpied the SP3 for Analysis services and it seems that my previous problems (1. Sometimes unable to connect to the analysis server through analysis manager; 2. Unable to browse cube) do not appear anymore. Thanks, delpiero |
