Hi,

Can someone tell me how an extra couple hundred Logins came to arrive in the Security section of my SQL Server (7.0)?

This is a small-time (basically dev) server, and should only contain a few Logins and now there are massive numbers of Logins there.

Is it somehow linked to another Server in my EM? They do seem to replicate those listed in one of my other Registrations...

Thanks,
Lost

Well, how many people do you have with admin or security admin rights on the server? Anyone who has those rights could easily create the logins.

Sounds like "password" for the SA password wasn't a good idea.

LOL Michael!

My guess is, you have transferred a database to your local box with the "Copy Login" option checked. Now you have all the login names for the remote (isp ? ) server.

Do you have the correct logins backed up? How do you know what to get rid of and what to keep?

Delete the others then.

You can shift-delete in EM I think.
