| New server installation.Anytime I edit the properties of *any* Login, it asks me to confirm the password, and it never matches what the password should be.So. Anytime I edit properties now, I need to be sure to enter the actual password in the dialog box so when prompted for the confirmation, it will match.Never seen this before. Is it something new, a bug, or a misconflaguration?Sam |

| Thanks.Patch 819 is Beta and this isn't urgent. Should I hold my breath for a full release of the patch? |

From the article... quote: WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, administer SQL Server from a workstation that has the SQL Client Tools installed and that does not have the MS03-031 security patch installed.
Also, where did you see this was a beta release? I can't find that. |

From http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290211/quote: MORE INFORMATIONMicrosoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 4 BetaRelease date: December 20, 2004
It also seems to be limited distribution...quote: How to ObtainTo participate in the SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4) Beta, you must fill out and submit a survey before you can gain access to the beta files. To access the survey, follow these steps.
Am I looking at the wrong patch for this problem? |

maybe, you're typing too fast? doing it quote: So. Anytime I edit properties now, I need to be sure to enter the actual password in the dialog box so when prompted for the confirmation, it will match.
does the trick this is classic password: "password"--------------------keeping it simple... |
