c0c0y writes "Hello,

We've just been able to set-up our new SAN equipment (DS300) and we could already telnet into the subsystem but we're not sure on how we could partition and format the new logical drive (we used raid 5). Is there a way wherein we could partition the subsystem? The SAN is using iScsi ports.

Thanks!"

That sounds like something that you should ask you SAN equipment vendor, or maybe read about in the manual.

What kind of SAN is this again??? Also, why are you accessing the system directly with telnet. You should be using the management tools that come with the SAN. "How" you partition the subsystem varies by vendor. Basically, you need to setup RAID groups and LUNs (or some variation thereof), and allow them to be presented to hosts.

It doesn't really matter if you're using iSCSI ports for what you're talking about.

Who gave you a SAN?
