Hi,

After removing a named instance, the two services remain-mssqlserver and the agent.

What is the way to delete the to services not associated with an instance?

Thx,
Dobby

Un-install SQL Server with Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

FYI: They are associated with an instance. They are assoiciated with the Default instance. So if you get rid of them, you are getting rid of SQL Server on that machine.

The named instance is uninstalled, but the associated services remain.
There are 4 services and only the default instance.
If i uninstal the default instance, will I get rid of all the services ?

Well, you listed two services. If you get rid of the default instance, it will get rid of those for sure. What other two services specifically are you talking about?

The services are for the named instance, that is not longer present.
After uninstalallation of the named instance the services associated left, and now there are 4 services- 2 for the default instance and 2 for the named uninstalled instance.

Do I have to uninstall the server to get rid of the old services or there is other way?

Thx,

Dobby
