Wayne writes "We have just acquired a company that has 5 (3 SQL2K and 2 SQL 7) individual SQL servers with approximately 830 Databases and 1700 Users.
I would like to build a SQL 2000 cluster on windows 2003 sp1 and move all these databases and users to it.
Initially I was thinking about a 3 node active/active cluster, but the more I read about active/active cluster, I am finding out that it is not really active/active, but a number of virtual servers that are running their indivual databases on their own disk resource.
Base on that I can't see the benefit of an active/active (no data replication is needed)cluster, and I believe that an active/passive cluster would be easier for me to maintain, with much less headaches.
I am new to this, and any thoughts our suggestions that you may have about this cluster would be helpful.

Thanks,
Wayne"

What are you looking to achieve?

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.
Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy.
