Thomas writes "Hi,
I'm having an intermittent failure on a database backup. Here is the error message:
BackupMedium::ReportIoError: write failure on backup device '\\dwp01\share\backups\enterprise\sqlbackups\weekly\ods1\ods120010427.bk1'. Operating system error 1450(Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.).
My system is 4/550 cpu's, 2gb of RAM, 135gb od disk running Win2000 and SQL 7 SP2. I'm trying to backup a 40gb database on primary. I tried to a local folder and then to a network server. Usually the job fails about 20-30 minutes into the process. The only success we have had is to breakup the output file into 3 parts and direct them to 3 separate logical drives. Thanks. Tom" |

| Just got this problem myself. See technet:FIX: Error 823 or 8966 Reported by SQL Server with Insufficient System Resources (Q274310) This is apparently fixed in SP3 ( and thus also SP4).hope that helps - I'm trying to arrange the implementation of this myself, now. |
