Guys,
Just think of something that I'm not too sure of, its about index rebuild. I understand that in most cases, you will have clustered index on all your tables, is there any reasons that you do NOT want to have one?
Say if you do not have a clustered index, and all you have is just non-clustered indexes on a table, when you do dbcc showcontig, Logical Scan Fragmentation will not shown and its meaningless anyway, in those cases, do you just rebuild those indexes base on the Page Density and/or the Scan Density figure? or you just rebuild them no matter what? I'm just trying to work out a way to select index to rebuild or defrag.
Thanks

I just do 'em all every Sunday AM. Fortunately, It takes only 7 minutes to do the entire database...

I imagine REINDEXing would take a lot more thought if it took enough time to block production work ... but I don't have that problem.

Life is good.
