craigp writes "I am having a major problem getting SQL Server 2000 (SP4) running on any Windows 2000 PCs (any SP).

It appears to install successfully but when the SQL Server Service Manager loads it errors: sqlmangr.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows.

The services MSSQLServer and SQLServerAGENT appear to be running successfully but when I try to install the database for my product the setup.exe file gives the same error as above.

I did manage to get it working on one PC by giving access to some local secutity policies (MS KB239885). This got it working long enough for me to install the database on that PC but giving the same level of access to everyone on other Win 2000 pcs did not have any effect.

The PC that was working was booted up this morning and is now showing the same error again, even though no settings have been changed!

I would appreciate any help or advice you might have on this.

Kind regards"
