All Forums  SQL Server 2005 Forums  Express Edition and Compact Edition (2005)  Can't obtain a data connection using vb.net expres

Author  Topic  kgs51 Starting Member 1 Post Posted - 2005-11-10 : 09:06:36 I have installed both vb.net express and sql express. I have not problem connecting to the server using the sql manager. However, in vb.net when I use the wizard to add a new data connection to connect to my server, when I test the connection I get the following error message: "Failed to generate a user instance of sql server due to failure in starting a process for the user instance. The connection will be closed" Any ideas how I can resolve this problem. Thanks
