How are you trying to view the error logs?SQL Express was released last November, you should really download the release version rather than using the CTP. Or are you talking about the Management Studio Express CTP?Regards,Mike WachalSQL ExpressThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.Use of included script samples are subject to the terms specified athttp://www.microsoft.com/info/cpyright.htm |

Hey Jen,Management Studio Express doesn't have a log viewer, so you can't actually open the logs directly from the UI. I wouldn't expect it to give an error, I'd expect it to do nothing, which is what it does for me. I have a newer version of the tool so it's possible we've corrected the error since the CTP was released. So how do you get the log? If you just want to take a look at it to find an error for troubleshooting, just go to the error log directory and open them in Notepad.Regards,Mike WachalSQL ExpressThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.Use of included script samples are subject to the terms specified athttp://www.microsoft.com/info/cpyright.htm |

Sounds good Jen, you'll have to wait a bit for the new CTP as it's not public yet. I expect you should see something this month, keep your eye on the SQL Developer Center on MSDN for an announcement. http://msdn.microsoft.com/sqlRegards,Mike WachalSQL ExpressThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.Use of included script samples are subject to the terms specified athttp://www.microsoft.com/info/cpyright.htm |
