a co-worker and I have been having a similar issue in two completely different packages. We have dts packages put together that have an FTP task inside. When the package runs, the file does not seem to transfer. After further investigation, we both noticed that the file does seem to come over and then is gone after the transfer is complete. having the destination folder open while the task is running, the file starts to be created, but after the task completes the download the file just vanishes. After a little bit of research I hear that this was a common problem prior to service pack 1. Just today one of the IT people installed SP3 locally on my machine (it has long been on the server itself) but I am still having the same problem. Can anyone please help with this problem, I really just do not know where else to look!!!!!!Thanks in advance! |

latest is sp4, atleast install sp3abut you need to investigate if the 'vanishing' act is caused by terminated process or an error within the transfer codeadd an error handler so you'll see what's happeningHTH--------------------keeping it simple... |

I don't believe this is caused by a terminated process, the task seems to be running just fine and "completing" just fine. I've run the task individually and it seems to run perfectly except for the file not being there afterwards. As for the transfer code, I'm not writing any code, I just have an FTP task running so I have no idea how I would look into that. |

if it 'completes' then it must be there... unless after creation, someone is deleting itfor examples of successful ftp tasks check nr's sitehttp://www.mindsdoor.net/#FTPHTH--------------------keeping it simple... |

The problem is that I can have the destination folder open while the ftp task is running and I can physically see the file being created and growing larger as it downloads and it grows to the correct size, but the second that the task is completed, the file literally disappears from the folder. it's the strangest thing. |

Try using FTP.exe and see if the same happens. If it does it's probably a feature of the site.==========================================Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.DTS can be used in a similar way.Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy. |
