John writes "Environment: Windows 2000, SQL 2000 Enterprise (non-clustered) Microsoft Outlook 2000, fix installed to allow non-Exchange mail.
SERVER\SQL account created properly within Windows 2000 with admin rights for the sole purpose of using this account for the mail profile. MSSQLServer account running in SERVER\SQL instead of the LocalSystem account. SQL account has admin rights within SQL Server.
MAPI tests successful from SQL Mail, even though the envelope in EM is not green.
SQLServerAgent mail - unsuccessful. When started in the .\SQL account, I get something like this: "Error 22042: xp_SQLSecurity No mapping between network and security IDs". When I try to test an operator's e-mail (added through the Outlook Contacts list) it says something like "SQLServerAgent mail session not started or incorrect startup account." This happens whether I sign in on Windows 2000 as .\SQL or .\Administrator.
I have tried putting "sa" in as the startup account for SQLServerAgent and that doesn't work either. I have tried "Windows Authentication" and still a no-go.
Can you help me? I am the only DBA here and I have absolutely NO ONE to ask." |
