Last week I ran into an orphaned, unkillable SPID. The SPID was holding a table lock on one of our most important tables, so our morning processes were held up while trying to truncate the table and recreate it. I traced the SPID back to a Brio query that locked up our Brio admins workstation. She rebooted and SQL Server 7 didnt drop the SPID. I tried to kill the SPID from T-SQL, SQL EM, and DBArtisan. Nothing worked. I finally stopped and restarted the SQL Services and the SPID was gone. Has anyone else ran into an unkillable SPID?DanielSQL Server DBA
