I'm just starting with RS2000 on Windows2003. I'm reading through Report Manager Help and RS BOL and I'm still fuzzy on how some users are able to see some things and other users cannot. Can anyone suggest other resources that are helpful? One specific question I have is regarding the New System Role Assignment page (In Report Manager, click Site Settings>Configure Site-wide Security>click New Role Assignment). In the Group or user name box, is this supposed to be the Windows AD security group name? Report Manager Help makes it sound like it is - quote: Group or User NameType the name of a group or user account for which the role assignment is being created. The group or user name must be a valid system account. If the report server is running under a local account, you must specify local groups or users. If the report server is running under a domain account, you must specify domain groups or users.
If so it would be nice to be able to browse to select one without typing but it's not a big problem. I guess you just have to be careful to type it correctly? Thanks in advance,Kevin |
