Hi Group,

I am facing peculiar problem with SQL Server 2005. When I run my Huge Stored Procedures, memory would get increased/allocated (say by 15MB). But that does not get decreased/deallocated after turning off the application or session.

Memory which is used by Sql Server should get released after sometime. Can I fix that timing or can release the excessive memory without restarting SQL Server 2005?

From where are you executing the SP? Front-end or SSMS?

I am executing query from SSMS.
My .Net Application is also accessing same server for querying the database.

if this is on a dedicated server, you dont want to free up the memory. what else is running on the box? in any event stopping sqlserver.exe in services applet ought to do it...but cant think of y u want to...
