| Ok, this is just to share a solution to an error that I had a hard time tracking down."If this solution does not work for you or crashes your server, sorry but I will not be held responsible. So back your system up before you change the registry or uninstall anything."I attempted to uninstall sql 2005 and the uninstall would never complete. I was using add/remove programs from the control panel.The server would never give me an error message as to why it would not unistall. The item remained in add/remove.Finally I attempted to uninstall SQL Server 2005 using the GUID (that I tracked down in the registry) start/wait msiexec /uninstall {GUID}and the error popped up telling me "The setup has encountered an unexpected error while Setting Internal Properties. The error is: Fatal error during installation"wow! after some searching I found (NOTE: the following site list a change to the registry, Do Not Do This unless you know what you are doing. )http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919945NOTE: the following has a change to the registry, [b]Do Not Do This unless you know what you are doing. I will not be held responsible if you do. It had me check in the registry.
