How can you find out if Service Pack 1 (SP1) has been installed already or not?

2047 is 2005 sp1.

Are you talking about the build?

9.00.1399.06

If so, that would be PRE-SP1, right?

Nevermind my last... :(

It returned:

"Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.1399.06 (Intel X86) Oct 14 2005 00:33:37 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation Standard Edition on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 1) "

However it is showing me that Build 3790 is service pack 1. Hmmm...

3790 is for the operating system, not SQL Server. The part I was talking about is this:

9.00.1399

1399 is less than 2047, so you are not running service pack 1. BTW, service pack 2 was released recently, so you should start working towards that instead of sp1.

The SQL version you are running is the 9.00.1399.06....that's pre-sp1.

You can also try running the following script:

SELECT SERVERPROPERTY('productversion'), SERVERPROPERTY ('productlevel'), SERVERPROPERTY ('edition')

Yippee! SP1 was giving me install errors with one of the required sections, but SP2 went off without a hitch! Thanks everyone.
