| Catherine writes "This may be a very stupid question ... please have a good laugh ... but please help us if you can. We host a website with a major provider. We are a reseller of their services. The problem relates to SQL. Many hours have already been spent trying to sort the issue out with the provider but to no avail. The client can hook up to the server using Enterprise Manager and manually create tables. However, when he tries to use DTS he gets the following error message...***************************************************************************DTS Import/Export Wizard ErrorError Source Miscorsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL ServerError Description [DBNETLIB][Connection Open (Connection()] SQLServer doesnot exist or access deniedContext: Error during initialisation at the provider***************************************************************************Everything was working fine for the client prior to a reinstall of the SQL serversoftware after the server was crashed last week by the Code Red worm ... server now patched. Having spoken with another SQL user we were told his provider disables DTS because of security issues and reconnects, for a short time, when people request it. Viewing the messages it looks like DTS is disabled on our server but our server providers do not know how to check this. They say they did a standard reinstall of SQL after the crash. They say they do not know how to check whether it is enabled or disabled. Can you tell us or tell us where we could find out." |
