How do I use more than 2GB of RAM for SQL Server 2005?I can see that the server is using 2GB, and the Server properties Max RAM is set to 2147483647MB (I can't increase it)"Use AWE to allocate memory" is NOT checked. Can I just check this, or are there some other BOOT.INI settings I need to make?SELECT @@VERSIONMicrosoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.3042.00 (Intel X86) Feb 9 2007 22:47:07 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation Standard Edition on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 1)"System" says I have 3.75GB of RAM installedTask Manager shows Physical = 3,931,528 and Commit Charge Total = 2,000,000 (this figure is moving around, of course)Thanks,Kristen

Thanks, but is that still relevant/necessary for SQL 2005? I was expecting it to be more "push button" in the latest versions of SQL and Windows ...Kristen

Kristen, I think you could be right. I did not have to set the /pae settings in Boot.ini for the sql server to use 8 GB RAM just the check box for AWE was enough. In the setup instructions it did not tell me to modify the boot.ini file. I had to restart the entire server if I do remember it right.
