| After a struggle, I finally got SQL 7 installed on a new Win2K PC at home and installed SP3. For some reasons, the install program kept hanging.After getting it installed, I attempted to do a new server registration to connect to my sql server at the office. When I tried to do it by the server's name, I got an error "General Network Error. Check you network documentation. ConnectionOpen(gethostbyname())"I was able to add it by IP address. The server at work is NT4 SP6a/SQL7 SP2.Any ideas why I can't connect by name? |
