Im running sql 2005 developer edition on my xp pro workstation. For some reason I can no longer create a database. I get an error such as the following:
"CREATE DATABASE permission denied in database 'master' (Microsoft sql server error: 262)"

How are you connecting? With sa account? With Windows Authentication? If Windows Authentication, is the account a member of the local admin group? If not, has the Windows account been added to the sysadmin fixed server role in SQL Server? If the account is a member of the local admin group, did you remove sysadmin from BUILTIN\Administrators role in SQL Server?

The account used should be in db creator server role at least.
