| I got 2 SQL servers. One is legacy SQL 6.5 and the other one is SQL 2005. They are installed in different machine. How can I copy or migrate the old 6.5 version databases to SQL 2005 server?Someone said I should upgrade the 6.5 to version 2000 first. Is it the only method? I didn't have SQL 2000 install cdrom and license. How can I do that? Please help. |

| http://www.microsoft.com/technet/technetmag/issues/2006/01/SmoothUpgrade/>> Note that to upgrade from SQL Server 6.5 or older you must first upgrade to SQL Server 7.0 or SQL Server 2000, and then to SQL Server 2005.Do you have an msdn subscription? You won't need a commercial licence for this.I have a feeling that v2000 is included on the v2005 dvd but could be wrong.==========================================Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.DTS can be used in a similar way.Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy. |
