I want to enable notifications for SQL Agent for my backup jobs.I configured database mail and that works, it sent me a test message. However, when I go to tell the SQL Agent to use it, it sees database mail as an option, but the drop down for Profile is blank.Any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong?(I restarted the agent service just in case)

Yes.In SQL Server Agent Properties I select Alert System. Then I check "enable mail profile" and mail system is Database Mail, Mail Profile is (well my mail profile)I then click OK. (however the button to TEST is grayed out).I select one of the jobs under SQL Server Agent, then properties of the job:Notifications: I check the E-Mail box: then the drop down is blank.EDIT: I did double check on the profile. It is set to PUBLIC and Default Profile is set as YES.

Ah yes, that resolved the issue :)Thanks!(probably should have known that, but I guess I never used them before or read about them)Question: What if I want to notify 3 or 4 people when something fails, how can I select multiple operators for a backup job, etc?
