Dear Sir,
While Installing Sql 2005 Express in IBM POS machine, the following Error comes.

The Sql Server Service has failes to Start
MESSAGE ID : 29503
Message Source : Setup.rll
evt Type : Sqlsetuplib\service.cpp@do_sqlscri


i Tried to other pos machine also , same problem Comes. But Normal Desktop pc it is running fine.

Please guide me

What's pos machine? Has windows os on it?

IBM POS Machine

OS : WinXp Professional SP2
Processor : x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 10 CentaurHauls ~860 Mhz
Phys Mem : 512 MB
Hard Disk : 40 GB

How did you install sql2k5 express? Are installation files on local dosk of the machine? Did you logon as local admin?

yes,first we copied installation files into harddrive and we run the setup program on local admin user

Isn't Intel Family 6 a Pentium II? Running at 860MHz? I don't think SQL Server Express 2005 runs on that old a processor, and I'd be really concerned about running it in only 512 MB of RAM too.
