I have been asked to upgrade 5 SQL2000 servers to SQL2005. These servers replicate between each other forming a circle of replication. I am concerned of the implications involved in the upgrade because of the reliance on the replication. Can anyone please give me advice on upgrading where replication is active. Will replication continue to work between 2000 and 2005 servers as it may not be possible to upgrade all the servers in one shot. Any advice on upgrading where replication is already active would be helpfull.Thanks.

Should upgrade in correct sequence. Distributor first, then publisher, then distributor.

Thanks. If all the servers cannot be upgraded together ie. in the same night, will replicatioon still work?

And if done in the correct sequence, will Replication remain active while the version upgrades take place?

Should be, but always test on dev environment first.
