Can someone tell me how to set up a connection string to give users access to a database through the intranet? My dba setup one similar for another user like so:Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Persist Security Info=False;User ID=intranet;Initial Catalog=Survey;Data Source=DBsql;Password=12345 I've never had to do this for access through the intranet.Thanks |

| Are you able to ping DBsql from one of the client machines on the Intranet? Can you connect via DBsql,PortNumber? If not...Then you need to talk to your network administrators to figure what needs to be changed in order to make it accessible. | You might have to specify DBsql via ip / port and force the connection string to use tcp/ip you'll also want to make sure you give that password the least amount of rights necessary.DataSource = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxx,1433;Network Library=DBMSSOCN; |
