we want to migrate our production server , without taking the database down.so what we did was , we mirrored the databases from production to one of our development servers and we took the prodcution server for uprgrade.

so today we are moving back (mirroring) all the databases from that development server to our new production server.

my question is , when i move

productionserver_old(principal server) - having the script for principal server

development server(mirror server---->principalserver)) - having the script for mirror server , which is now acting as principal server

new production server(mirror server) - having the script for mirror server. will become principal server , once i moved all the databases

now while mirroring between the developement server and the new production server, i have to run the scripts for the mirror server only.

so both the servers are havign the mirror script now...

is that a problem, or any other way i can handle this....

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking. Tara has blogged on db mirroring quite a bit so you might want to check out here weblog.

Your post is not very clear. You can not mirror to more than one server, so I don't understand what you mean by both servers having the mirror script. I'm sure there's just a language barrier here. Please clarify your environment and question.

ok,ill explain in this way
we are planning to have database mirroring between 2 production servers.
server1 databases will mirrored to server 2 and server 2 databases will be mirrored to server 1.
is this possible..??

the script i am talking is like, creating master key, creating principal server certififcate and mirror server certificate.. like that

It's only possible if the databases are different. You can't mirror a database that is already a member of database mirroring.

but in my case,
we had our production databases in 32 bit production server, so we mirrored that databases to server2, and failed over all the databases to server2(which is now acting as principal server).then we replaced our old 32 bit server to new 64 bit server.

now i want to mirror our databases to it's own server. is this possible.

because those databases in server2 is not having any mirror now, since i removed mirroing from them..

Looks like you did some upgrade on your primary server? When you "replaced our old 32 bit server to new 64 bit server" didnt you have to bring down mirroring?

replaced means , we completely got rid of our old server and we bought new server from dell and configured it for 64 bit.

so we bring down database mirroring

So cant you re-set up the mirroring? Back up the db from the mirrored server, restore on the new server and set up as it was before you brought it down?
