Hi everyone,

Is there any limitation in number of accesses for a sql login account?

For example, I use one sql login account to connect between the website and db. Since I changed web server to window 2003. I got error message saying SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

I then created another sql account instead of only one login account. now the website is running fine and faster than before.

I really don't understand it. Can anyone please explain it?

Thanks in advance!

We use odbc to access ms sql2005. the connection string in ASP is like Set Conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")

Is there any limitation in number of connection?

Did you set limit in connection pool?

We use ASP not ASP.Net.

I am not a programmer. Do we also use pool in ASP? What is the limit?

Connection pools are based on the connection string, so it is possible that you ran out of connections in the pool, but it would not be very likely since you got an access denied.

Not sure what you ran into, but there no limit to how many times a login can access SQL Server.
