Is it good to have Reporting Services on seperate server to avoid performance promblems or it really doesn't matter (sql server and reporting server on same server) as long as the server have enough memory? Thanks ! |

Yes it is recommended to have it on a separate server, but it does mean you have to pay for a license.Same goes for Analysis Services and Notification Services.Tara KizerMicrosoft MVP for Windows Server System - SQL Serverhttp://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/ |

Check out the licensing information on the Microsoft site. Reporting Services is only free when it is installed on the server where SQL Server exists. In this situation, you only have to pay for a SQL Server server license. When you install Reporting Services on a separate server for performance reasons, you must purchase a SQL Server server license plus an RS license.Tara KizerMicrosoft MVP for Windows Server System - SQL Serverhttp://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/ |
