Are you trying to read a 64-bit trace file? Can you open the trace file in Profiler? Was the trace file created in SQL Server 205?

I'm also getting this error.

I'm using SQL Server 2000 (NOT 64 bit)

ClearTrace requires SQL Server 2005 (not Express Edition) to be installed on the machine where it runs. Please see the requirements page for more details.
