I have recently installed 2005 Standard and 2005 Reporting Services (on a separate server), today we built a service account for the SQL services in Active Directory. I planned to use SQL Configuration tools to change the account but it fails with the message:'No mapping between account names and security IDs was done'I ended up going through and following the manual steps outlined in KB article 283811 - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q283811But I am baffled and concerned as to why it failed. Any advice? Future guru in the making. |

| Did you add the service account to the server as a local admin?Does the service account have rights in the SQL Server security as sysadmin?PS: If anyone is interested in a SQL Server job in Connecticut with excellent pay please send your resume to ValterBorges@msn.com |

| what's interesting is that the link claims that all those you've mentioned will be done automatically, no script to run, packaged in one neat little box--------------------keeping it simple... |

Yes, I did all of the above. I am not sure what the cause is, everything is working correctly from what I can tell but it is weird that it didn't let me use the config manager to do it. I read articles where others had this problem but without any solutions. Future guru in the making. |
