| Hi ALL,I am trying to install the SQL server 2005 client silently for deployment. We have requirement to install to D:\. I written the script to install. I specified the install script as setup.exe /qn ADDLOCAL=Client_Components,Connectivity,SQL_Documentation,SQL_Tools90,SQLXML,Tools_Legacy,SQL_BooksOnline,TOOLS_BC_DEP,SQL_WarehouseDevWorkbench,SDK" INSTALLSQLDIR="D:\Program Files\Microsoft Sql Server\" INSTALLSQLDATADIR="D:\Progrm Files\Microsoft SQL Server\Data"even though i specified the D:\ but its installing to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server". Please let me know whats the exact problem in my script. Thanks in advance..Vamsi |

| You can't prevent SQL Server from putting files on the drive where the OS is installed. We always select the E drive for the installations, however MS requires that certain files be on the system drive. So you should see files on both C and D for your installation. With SQL 2005 sp2, you'll find that it requires a ton of disk space on the C drive. For this reason, we recommend that a minimum of 10GB be setup for the C drive.Tara KizerMicrosoft MVP for Windows Server System - SQL Serverhttp://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/ |
