Guys,

What are roles and access rights I need to assign my backup operator so that he can see Maintainence plans under Management node of SQL Server Management Studio. I do not want to assign any admin related privileges.

Thanks

I don't believe it's possible, in the BOL it states:
"To create or manage maintenance plans, you must be a member of the sysadmin fixed server role. Note that Object Explorer only displays maintenance plans if the user is a member of the sysadmin fixed server role."

You can still let them view maintenance plan jobs.
