Anyone know of any differences in an active/active cluster and an active/passive cluster that would cause an application to work on an active/passive environment but not an active/active environment?

No.

What problem are you encountering?

No specific errors. We have an application that explains how to configure it for an active/passive cluster environment, and there is one sentence that states that an active/active cluster is not supported. I was just curious if there were any technical differences that would cause the application not to work, or was it more that the application was probably simply never tested in an active/active environment.

It sounds like the vendor isn't familiar with clustering.

Perhaps it is because MS does not support a cluster solution without at least 1 node that is in a passive mode.

So they simply put that as their disclaimer.

Hope this helps,

That is not true. We have a 4-node cluster and all 4 nodes are active. We also have many 2-node clusters that have both nodes active.

It seemd that vendor application will support when you have active/active clustering. I have been seen that some third party vendors that they will support as we all tools and MS great feature.

I would say if the vendor is also using the MS version then it should have to support active/active and Active/passwive clustering.

Say what? I work with plenty of non-native English speaking professionals, and while at times I find it hard to follow some translations, this one takes the cake.
