| Does anyone get any issues creating "Backup" jobs as a Maintenance Plan when specifying the backup location as a UNC path (e.g. "\\backup_blade\BACKUPS\")?For some reason, if i try using the UNC path for a 1-time backup, it works, but when I am trying to put it into a scheduled job, it does not 'seem' to perform the Backup step.Help please...seethem |

backing up to a remote share is risky. if the network goes down during the backup, it fails and you have no backup, resulting in possible data loss.better to backup to the local disk, then copy the file to the share. if the copy succeeds, then delete the local copy.

| Jezemine, this remote area is highly available.RMAIO, can you please explain more what direction you are pointing me in please, I have created a shared folder and have given full rights to the id that the agent's user account. Do I need to edit security settings on the folder?seethem |

| Do you start sql agent service with domain account? Can you access remote location with that account? |
